Tchaikovsky’s most famous ballet and a symbol of the Russian ballet, Swan Lake in the hands of director and choreographer Andrei Petrov, is a lyrical masterpiece. It is the spellbinding classical romance of Prince Siegfried and a lovely swan princess named Odette. Under the spell of a sorcerer, Odette spends her days as a swan swimming on a lake of tears and her nights in human form. The couple also has to deal with the sorcerer’s daughter Odile. Odette and Odile, resemble each other so closely that they can be mistaken for each other to tragic consequences. Tragedy continues to unfold as the lovers outline their destiny in dance.
