Esmeralda based on Victor Hugo’s romantic tale of the ESMERALDA (Notre Dame de Paris) (Notre Dame de Paris) is a dramatic production with choreography by Andrei Petrov. The Kremlin Ballet Theatre was founded nearly three decades ago at the Kremlin Palace, and ever since has been an integral component of the creative achievements Russian ballet. Several masters have guided the destiny of this ballet theatre including Vladimir Vasiliev, Yury Grigorovich, Ekaterina Maximova, Galina Ulanova, Marina Semyonova, Sofya Golovkina and Boris Pokrovsky. A special treat for lovers of ballet, the story set in 15th century Paris, remains quite true to the original plot, as three men from different walks of life, the hunchback bell ringer Quasimodo, his adopted father Claude Frollo, a priest, and Phoebus, the captain of the King’s archers, compete to win the heart of Esmeralda, a beautiful gypsy.
