China National Acrobatic Troupe

Founded in 1950 under the guidance of Premier Zhou Enlai, the China National Acrobatic Troupe holds a special place in the history of New China. As the first state-level acrobatic troupe established by the central government, it was also the first to represent the nation abroad, earning it the proud titles “the First Acrobatic Troupe of New China” and the “Dream Team” of Chinese acrobatics.

In 2006, as part of cultural reforms, the troupe became one of the first state-run arts institutions to transition into a state-owned enterprise. It now serves as the flagship company of Beijing Performance & Arts Group, carrying its legacy of innovation into the modern era.

Guided by the philosophy of “pursuing excellence and creating classics” and a mission “to let the world see the best of Chinese acrobatics,” the troupe has preserved and reimagined centuries of tradition. It has amassed 75 gold and 10 honorary gold awards at competitions worldwide, toured 134 countries and regions, and stood as a cultural envoy on the global stage. Celebrated as “the forerunner of people’s diplomacy,” it remains admired by national leaders and beloved by audiences worldwide.
