How much optimism can a person maintain as life begins to look ever bleaker? Are there such things as signs and fate? Can you improve your lot through creative talent, love and will alone? These are the questions at the heart of one of the world’s most moving operas, sets in the old Quartier Latin of Paris.
Meet Rodolfo the poet, Marcello the painter, Colline the philosopher, and Schaunard the musician, living together in poverty but with zest for life. Rodolfo’s love interest, Mimi, will have an indelible impact on the relationship between Marcello and his lover, Musetta, stirring powerful emotions in the audience.
