“One of the most exciting, innovative, and delightful dance companies in the entire world,” according to the New York Times, will perform three enchanting modern pieces. Lose yourself in this powerful immersion in the vibrant, multicultural tapestry of life as a ‘New Yorker.’.
Over six decades, the Paul Taylor Dance Company has performed in more than 600 cities in 64 countries–with an astonishing 147 of the shows choreographed by Paul Taylor himself.
You’ll be transported directly into the exciting hustle and bustle of New York City streets, via the mesmerizing athleticism of the dancers in “Rush Hour.” The soundtrack of “Somewhere in the Middle” stokes memory and leaves audiences cheering: be moved to your feet by the infectious rhythms of Wynton Marsalis, Count Basie, Sarah Vaughan, Duke Ellington, and other Big Band favourites. And Paul Taylor’s post-9/11 iconic “Promethean Fire” is a moving inspiration, depicting the renewal and triumph of the human spirit.
