Conductor: Leos Svarovsky
Piano: George Li

Programme
Smetana: Vltava from Má Vlast
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2
Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 – ‘From the New World’

What a starry night it will be when this Grammy-winning orchestra comes together with one of the world’s most acclaimed concert pianists for a singular Southeast Asia performance. The 75 musicians that make up the Prague Philharmonia have performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, among scores of other top concert venues and music festivals worldwide. These Sony and BMG classical- and film-recording artists have more than 90 recordings to their credit, fetching numerous prizes, awards and eternally glowing reviews.

And this evening shines even more brightly with the virtuosic technique and expressive playing of concert pianist George Li–a prodigy who gave his first public performance at Boston’s Steinway Hall at age 10 and went on to perform for President Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House. The Warner Classics artist and Harvard University / New England Conservatory graduate who does collaborations with Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, has effortless grace and an authority of music far beyond his years. Expect no less than magic.
